Coconut milk and Coconut cream are powerful and versatile foods that make a great milk substitute. Similar to other coconut products, they also have health advantages, antiobesity, antioxidative, antiallergenic and anti-inflammatory properties. They help decrease cholesterol and help in weight loss. This recipe is a great combination of spices and fresh Coconut milk and is a perfect cooling drink. It is loaded with minerals such as copper, selenium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, and zinc.

● Prep time- 5 minutes
● Making time- 2 minutes
● Servings- 3 person


  • Cream from Tender Coconut- 1 cup
  • Lemon juice- 6-8 drops
  • Cold water- 1 cup
  • Cumin powder- ½ tsp
  • Green chillies- 1
  • Rock salt- ¼ tsp or as per taste
  • Ginger- 1 small
  • Curry Leaves- 10 small leaves


● To make a thick coconut cream, blend 1/2 cup of tender coconut’s creamy flesh with water.
● Then, add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until you reach the desired consistency.
● Serve it chilled.
● You can keep this buttermilk in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
● Additionally, you could replace coconut cream with almond milk or coconut milk, if you prefer.
