Chickpea & Pumpkin Soup

  • Finely chopped Garlic- 2 cloves
  • Finely chopped Onion- 1
  • Chopped Pumpkin- 250gm
  • Olive oil- 2 tbsp
  • Cumin- ½ tsp
  • Boiled potato- 1 small
  • Mashed Chickpeas
  • Tomato puree- 1 tbsp
  • Chopped Coriander leaves- as per taste
  • Rock salt- as per taste
  • White pepper- as per taste


  • Pressure cook the Pumpkin until it becomes soft and mushy.
  • In a saucepan, heat the olive oil and sauté onion and garlic. Add mashed pumpkin into it and season with cumin and white pepper.
  • Add mashed chickpeas.
  • Let it simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Add the tomato puree to the pan and stir it for a few minutes until it is completely cooked.
  • Garnish with coriander.
  • Tastes best when served hot.
