Having a go-to vegan chickpea hummus recipe is always a good idea because it’s not only healthy but also very versatile. You can use it as a dip for veggies, or enjoy it with crackers, pita chips, or bread. Vegan Chickpea Hummus is so creamy, smooth & delicious.
- Prep time- 1 ½ hour (boil chickpeas for 45 minutes to 1 hour)
- Cooking time- 15 minutes
- Servings- 2-3 people
Ingredients-
- Boiled Chickpeas- 1 cup
- Tahini- ¼ cup
- Fresh Lemon Juice- 2 tbsp
- Minced Garlic- 2 cloves
- Sea Salt / Rock Salt- 1 tsp
- Roasted Cumin- 1 tsp
- Olive Oil- ¼ cup
Procedure-
- First, boil the chickpeas and then place them into a food processor or blender.
- Next, add the tahini, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and cumin. Blend until smooth.
- While the processor is running slowly, blend the ingredients together while drizzling in the olive oil. Keep blending until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Add the boiled chickpea water to adjust the consistency.
- Make sure to taste and season according to your preferences. You can add more lemon juice, salt or cumin.
- Carefully transfer the hummus to a serving bowl or food storage container.
- Drizzle olive oil on top.
- Enjoy hummus with some gluten-free bread, roti, or your favorite veggies on the side.
